Dimapur, 13 February (MTNews): Dimapur District Basketball Association (DDBA) on Tuesday announced formidable men’s and women’s teams to compete in the upcoming Nagaland Olympics & Paralympic Games (NOPG) from 15-17 February 2024.

Led by Rilise Thonger as captain, the men’s team comprises a strong lineup including Chumbenthung Lotha, Bendang Jamir, Tsentsuthing L Kithan, Rajan Nayak, Imsuren Longchar (VC), Abhishek Singh, Rahul Leonard, Kamlenmang Andrew, Tovika Awomi, Rongsennungba and Marshal Pashel. The team is under the management of Imchenchang Imchen and coached by Moawabang.

The women’s team, captained by Kenyuni Keppen, showcases exceptional talent such as Sosentetla Aier, Pelekhonuo Kuotsu, Kivitoli Ayemi (VC), Kevingunuo Terhuja, Lituna Sukhai, Moidan Phom, Achumbeni Ngullie, Tongpangrepla Longchari, Lunshila Quinker, Imchakumla Longkumer and Maria Gorretti. The women’s team is managed by Hinoto Chophi and coached by Alanthung Ngullie.

Meanwhile, DDBA extended its gratitude to the JV Foundation, sponsors, supporters, and the community for their unwavering encouragement. The association said it looks forward to showcasing the district’s prowess on the court and “bringing home glory from the prestigious event.”
