The Dimapur Nokpu Senso Telongjem (DNST) has expressed shock and outrage over a recent incident involving Moakaba Aier, a sergeant major of the NSCN (Khango) and son of Karlijang Aier from Akumen Village. The DNST condemned Aier’s alleged brutal assault on a 3-year-old girl at Saringyim village (Nokpu B), under Longchem Headquarters in Mokokchung District, describing the act as “heinous and barbaric.”
In a statement, the DNST denounced the inhumane behavior and called for the accused not to be granted bail. “This inhuman act is never been expected & unequivocally condemned in the strongest of terms. The union strongly demands the enforcing agencies not to give bail to the ‘accused’,” it stated.
The DNST also extended heartfelt thanks to all those who have supported the victim and her family during this distressing period. The organization expressed its gratitude to individuals and agencies who have worked tirelessly to ensure justice is served.
Furthermore, the DNST urged the authorities to provide financial assistance to the victim to facilitate necessary therapy or medical treatment as soon as possible.
