KVK Mokokchung conducted vocational training as part of its 100-Day Action Plan on ‘Scientific Agricultural Interventions for Enhancing Rural Livelihood’ in an off-campus mode. The program aimed to uplift the socio-economic status of rural communities through scientific agricultural practices.
The courses covered various topics, including horticulture, agronomy, soil conservation, plant protection, and animal science, with the goal of enhancing the skills of the farming community through a multi-disciplinary approach. The training took place from August 10 to August 16, 2024, and involved fifty farm women engaged in different agricultural practices.
The program focused on the current farming situation and introduced scientific interventions for improvement. It included various packages of practices for horticultural crops, soil health management to enhance yields, modern agronomic practices, pest and disease management for important crops, and scientific management of livestock.
The resource persons from KVK Mokokchung included Imtisenla (Agronomy), Imtilemla (Soil Science), Martha (Plant Protection), Khekali (Horticulture), and Dr. Sarendi Walling (Animal Science).
