Küpza, 18 January (MTNews): The second session of the ongoing 39th General Conference of the Ongpangkong Kaketshir Mungdang (OKM) was graced by the presence of Metsübo Jamir, Minister RD and SIRD, Government of Nagaland, who served as the Special Guest. The conference, being held under the theme ‘Liberated Education’ at Küpza village, addresses key aspects and the future trajectory of Ongpangkong students and youth.

Minister Metsübo Jamir, during his speech, challenged the attending delegates to envision the future leadership of Ongpangkong. Stating that Ongpangkong has been the forerunner and pioneers in various fields, he emphasized the rich heritage of Ongpangkong and urged the youth to consider education as a means of acquiring skills and generating tangible results. Education should be skill and result-oriented, he said, adding that one should not pursue education merely for degree and grades.

The welcome note was delivered by Limatongzuk Jamir, President of the Ongpangkong Students’ Conference (OKM). Further insights and greetings were shared by R Sunep Pongen, President of the Central Nagaland Students’ Association, and Lanutoshi Aier, President of Ao Kaketshir Mungdang.

A significant moment in the session was the release of “Limketer,” the magazine of the Ongpangkong Students’ Conference, by the special guest. The event also witnessed the felicitation of over 30 meritorious students and achievers in various fields, including those who excelled in HSLC and HSSLC exams, gold medalists in graduation and post-graduation studies, and successful civil service examination candidates.

Following the main session, the conference delved into two insightful workshops. The first workshop explored the theme “Career and Prospects in Agri and Allied Services,” with Dr Sashiyangba, District Project Officer, Tseminyu, Government of Nagaland, as the resource person. The second workshop centered on “Navigating Through Various Competitive Exams” and had Likokba, JDA Treasuries & Accounts, Government of Nagaland, and founder of Insight NPSC Educational Trust Nagaland, as the expert guide.
