The Eastern Naga National Workers Association (ENNWA), under the Kitovi-led GPRN/NSCN, held an emergency meeting on April 21 at the Khehoi Designated Camp where new office bearers were appointed and a strong rebuttal was issued against a recent media statement claiming the ceasefire agreement was invalid in Eastern Naga territories.

In an official resolution passed during the meeting, the house “unanimously elected NT Yanthong, Kilonser, as Chairman and Prongba Kanyak as Secretary for the tenure 2025–2028.” The association further declared that it “officially reaffirmed its commitment to supporting and working collaboratively under the affection[ate] leadership of His Excellency, President Maj (Rtd) RM Lotha, and the Most Honorable Ato Kilonser N Kitovi.”

Reacting to a purported statement released on April 18, allegedly under the name ENNWA, which claimed that the recent “Ceasefire Agreement between the Government of India and GPRN/NSCN (N. Kitovi) is invalid and inapplicable within the Eastern Naga territories,” the association strongly rejected the assertion.

“The House strongly rejected [the statement] and said that the nomenclature ENNWA thus applies to all the National workers serving under different groups and one particular group cannot claim the nomenclature as it may hurt the sentiments of the ENPO people,” the official resolution stated. It added that “the statement thus shows the lack of political reasoning.”

The ENNWA clarified that “the Government of India had invited N Kitovi group to sign the Ceasefire Agreement,” and therefore “the Party should work according to the Ceasefire ground rules within the entire Nagaland.”

Ending on a note of unity, the House called upon the general public to remain discerning. “The House respectfully encourages all peace-loving citizens, particularly those in the ENPO regions, to remain vigilant regarding potentially misleading statements as their slogan is ‘Unity first and Solution second.”
