The Eastern Nagaland Peoples’ Organisation (ENPO), representing the eight tribes of Chang, Eastern Sumi, Khiamniungan, Konyak, Phom, Sangtam, Tikhir, and Yimkhiung, has extended profound congratulations to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his historic ascension as the 16 Prime Minister of India. The congratulatory message was issued following Modi’s swearing-in ceremony at the forecourt of Rashtrapati Bhavan on June 9, 2024.

The ENPO expressed their heartfelt congratulations to Prime Minister Modi for securing a consecutive third term in office. They described this remarkable achievement as a testament to his “unwavering dedication, visionary leadership, and the trust he has instilled in millions of Indians”.

“India, with its rich tapestry of culture and ancient civilization, stands as a marvel of global heritage, playing a pivotal role in shaping many neighboring civilizations,” the ENPO stated.

The ENPO highlighted the continued success of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) under Modi’s dynamic leadership as reassuring and inspiring. They expressed confidence that his vision and commitment will further strengthen democratic institutions and promote the well-being of every citizen.

Lastly, the ENPO emphasized the anticipation of dynamic and visionary leadership decisions for the inclusion and participation of Eastern Nagaland in the nation’s progress. They noted that the region remains one of the most undeveloped and marginalized areas in the country, a stark reminder of the socio-economic and political disparities that persist.
