The GPRN/NSCN (U) has issued a statement addressing the misrepresentation and misuse of its nomenclature. The organization clarified that there is only one legitimate GPRN/NSCN (Unification) government, led by Gen. (Retd.) MB Neokpao Konyak as President and Alezo Venuh as Ato Kilonser.

“GPRN/NSCN has been established in consonance with the Naga people’s call and desire for unification of all the Naga national workers of different factions. Likeminded national workers from the NSCN-IM and NSCN (Khaplang) in a quest for a single ‘unified Naga national government’ came together in 2007 and led to the formation of a government under the banner of GPRN/NSCN. Thenceforth, the nomenclature ‘GPRN/NSCN’ and the word ‘Unification’ came to be referenced as synonym terms,” the MIP GPRN/NSCN (U) said in a statement issued today.

In this regard, the NSCN (U) has urged all concerned citizens and the general public to remain vigilant and to reject any entity falsely claiming association with the GPRN/NSCN (Unification) nomenclature. It cautioned against entertaining or acknowledging any group masquerading under this name, emphasizing the importance of recognizing only the leadership under Gen. (Retd.) MB Neokpao Konyak and Alezo Venuh “in any matter and discourse henceforth.”
