Kohima, 20 May (MTNews): The Department of Employment, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Government of Nagaland has joined forces with Changeinkk Foundation, a non-profit organization that is devoted to mainstreaming persons with learning disabilities, to skill individuals who often go unnoticed because of their invisible disabilities.

 

 

According to a DIPR report, the partnership aims to tap into the natural entrepreneurial spirit of these individuals and leverage their skills to drive innovation and growth for the state.

 

According to the Department of Employment, Skill Development, and Entrepreneurship they have partnered with Changeinkk Foundation recognizing that individuals with invisible disabilities, especially those with Specific Learning Disabilities, are often the driving force behind groundbreaking innovations that have changed the world. They hope that it will empower these individuals by providing them with the necessary skills to become successful entrepreneurs and innovators.

 

Changeinkk Foundation, according to the report, is committed to building equitable ecosystems that promote the inclusion of individuals with learning disabilities from cradle to career. Instead of creating alternative systems of inclusion, the partnership will build the capacities of all stakeholders, enabling them to create a sustainable culture of inclusion.

 

“The Nagaland Government and Changeinkk Foundation are committed to this partnership and believe that it will drive innovation, productivity, and growth for India,” it added.

 

Advisor Moatoshi conducts consultative meeting

 

Meanwhile, Moatoshi Longkumer, Advisor for Labour& Employment, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship and Excise conducted a consultative meeting in the presence of Sushil Kumar Patel, IAS, Commissioner & Secretary, Labour& Employment, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship with the Principals of the Industrial Training Institutes and District Employment Officers of the Employment Exchanges in the State along with officials of the Department of Employment, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship on the 18th & 19th of May, 2023.

 

 

During the meeting, Moatoshi reviewed the activities and achievements of the Department and emphasized the need for innovation in reducing the unemployment rates in the State. Moatoshi also highlighted the importance of conducting regular job fairs across the state to align unemployed youths with employers.

 

The Advisor encouraged the Department to work out an action plan to conduct one training program in each District Headquarters on two different trades each for men and women with the Mobile Skill Morung. This initiative will help improve accessibility to skill development and create more job opportunities for the youth.
