Agricultural Technology Management Agency, Mokokchung, Tsurangkong Block, inaugurated a farm school on integrated farming at Moayimti Village, Tsurangkong Block on 28th April 2022. The program was chaired by Moanukshi Ao, BTM Tsurangkong Block where the farmers were first acquainted with the concept of “Farm School”.

 

The Resource person was Dr. Wapangsashi VAS, Animal Husbandry Department. Mokokchung. He highlighted the farmers about Impact of Pig farm wastes. He explained how pig waste also contributes to groundwater pollution in the forms of groundwater seepage. The resource person highlighted about pig manure for compost where he explained how to compost pig manure.

 

He also highlighted bio-security in an Integrated Livestock Farm where he explained to the farmers that the first step to achieving bio-security is to understand how diseases are spread.

 

Later, the resource person explained to the farmers about Biosecurity Protocols where he ensured the farmers that all equipment that enters and leaves the farm should be clean, as it can carry disease from farm to farm. Altogether it was a successful programme, 32 farmers attended the Farm School Inauguration program.
