In an unfortunate fire incident at School Compound sector, Chuchuyimpang Village, an automobile workshop was completely burned down to ashes destroying property worth lakhs of rupees though no loss of life was reported. The accident happened on the evening of December 10 at around 6:20 PM.

 

 

 

Three vehicles including a Maruti Gypsy, a Maruti Van and a Maruti 800 car were completely burned down while another Maruti 800 car and a Maruti Wagon R were affected by the fire in the accident. Further, five new car engines and various other new products as well as the structure with four rooms and lavatory were destroyed in the fire accident.

 

The workshop, located adjacent to the NH-2, engages in automobile repair, welding and painting.

 

The owner of the workshop, Akangmeren Jamir, stated that the cause of the fire was unknown and informed in remorse that during the incident equipment and products worth more than 60 lakh rupees were destroyed.
Three fire tenders from the Mokokchung Fire Station and personnel from Police Station-1 were deployed within 20 minutes to contain the situation.
