Mokokchung, October 7 (MTNews): Calling it a first of a kind in Nagaland, palliative care training for volunteers was conducted at Phom Baptist Christian Association Headquarter, Longleng in collaboration with PALLIUM INDIA (NE), Phom Baptist Christian Association and Chief Medical Officer Longleng, on Friday, October 7, 2022.
The training was said to be a first in Nagaland in order to equip the community towards palliative care with an interdisciplinary team consisting of Doctors, Nurses, pharmacists, psychologist, physiotherapist, social workers, volunteers, chaplains and caregivers.
The training was imparted subsequently after training the Doctors and Nurses and the church leaders of Longleng.
Rontu Sangma, Co-ordinator NE, Palliative India and Dr. Obangjungla, Chief Medical Officer, Longleng were the resource persons for the training.
