Mokokchung, October 7 (MTNews): A consultative meeting between the National People’s Party (NPP) Nagaland State Executives, the District Presidents and General Secretaries was held at Cafe Mitron, near Don Bosco Hr. Sec. School, Dimapur on 6th October 2022 mainly focusing on the upcoming Party Convention and the Assembly and ULB Elections. The meeting was also attended by officials of the State Frontal Organizations including the State Women Wing and the National People’s Youth Front (NPYF).

 

During the presidential address, NPP State President, Dr. Andrew Ahoto Sema, who also chaired the meeting, expressed immense joy at the proactive role played by the District Units in bringing about greater efficacy into the party organization. He also informed the gathering that NPP, as a National Party, has been constituted in “all the 12 districts of Nagaland” with very efficient and able party workers, as of now.

 

He further highlighted that NPP is gaining good momentum and many like-minded people as well as intending candidates are approaching and seeking for the party’s ticket.

 

However, he mentioned that presently, the party was keeping a “very low profile” and will publicly announce the official candidates and the party’s plans for the upcoming polls at the right and opportune moment.

 

He further called upon all the District Units to work in close coordination with the State team and to choose capable leaders, while also asking them to be loyal to the party’s ethics and principles. He exuded confidence that, with the whole-hearted support of the District Units, NPP was set to become a game-changer and an alternative national political party for Nagaland’s development.

 

During their brief speeches, the district representatives also expressed common hope and zeal that the party’s presence and potential in the districts as well as the constituency, block and booth levels was going forward on a war-footing. They also hoped that there would be a “very positive and ground-breaking outcome” of the perpetual dedication put forth by the party workers. The district representatives also presented brief reports of their respective districts during the course of the meeting.

 

The other speakers during the meeting included Philip Lam, State General Secretary (Organization) and Lima Longchar, State Advisor cum Convenor of Mokokchung District. Earlier, the invocation prayer was pronounced by Alemla, Convenor, State Women Wing. The meeting drew to a well appreciated conclusion with a vote of thanks proposed by Dr. Keviseto Kintso, Convenor of Kohima District followed by benediction by Deo Nukhu, Senior Advisor of the party.
