The President of India has approved the appointment of five officers from the Nagaland State Police Service to the prestigious Indian Police Service (IPS) on probation. The appointments have been made under the provisions of the Indian Police Service (Recruitment) Rules, 1954, and the Indian Police Service (Appointment by Promotion) Regulations, 1955. These officers will serve under the Nagaland Cadre.
The selected officers include James Kinghen; Teisovise Metha; H Kuhovi Sema; M Rhovisie Nyuwi; and Rankathung Vikram Ezung.
As part of their induction, the officers will be on probation for one year, in accordance with the Indian Police Service (Probation) Rules, 1954. They are also required to undergo induction training, as specified under the amended IPS (Probation) Rules of 2011.
