In the wake of the historic Lok Sabha election boycott on April 19, 2024, the Eastern Nagaland People’s Organisation (ENPO) has announced its decision to abstain from the upcoming urban local bodies (ULB) elections in Nagaland. This declaration was made public through a statement issued by the ENPO.

Reaffirming its stance as per the Chenmoho resolution, the ENPO emphasized its resolve to refrain from participating in the scheduled ULB elections in Nagaland slated for June 26. The organization underscored its unwavering commitment to this cause through its official statement.

Furthermore, the ENPO disclosed its decision to abstain from partaking in any central or state celebrations or events until their demand for Frontier Nagaland Territory (FNT) is addressed and fulfilled.

The decision lies in the resolution passed at Chenmoho village on February 23, which mandates the citizens of Eastern Nagaland to abstain from involvement in both central and state elections.

The ENPO’s boycott of the ULB elections follows its earlier stance of non-cooperation with the electoral process, signaling a continued assertion of its demands and aspirations.
