The Nagaland Foothills Road Coordination Committee (NFHRCC) held an emergency meeting today in Dimapur and adopted key resolutions to expedite the long-pending Foothill Road project.
In a press release, the NFHRCC stated that it has “fervently urged upon the Department of Public Works, Road & Bridges to advise all the Contractors / Firms of the 17 work Orders to immediately start/activate the works on full strengths in their allocated work sites.”
The Committee also expressed serious concern over delays and emphasized the importance of adhering to prior agreements. “It is seriously reminded to the concerned Department to honour both in letter and spirit the MoU agreed upon on March 5th, 2025, as it was done on the advice of the Hon’ble Minister, PWD, R&B, Nagaland,” it stated.
In a move to ensure transparency and accountability, the NFHRCC resolved to “initiate a joint inspection to the project sites at any appropriate time.” Accordingly, the Committee has requested the Department “not to release any funds till the joint inspection is done so as to avoid misunderstanding the Committee and the Department.”
