Four faculty members of Nagaland University have been featured in the World’s Top 2% Scientists list prepared by researchers at Stanford University, while three of them have also been recognised in the Career-Long Top 2% Scientists category.

The faculty members featured in the latest list are Prof. Prabhakar Sharma of the Department of Agricultural Engineering and Technology, Prof. Ambrish Singh of the Department of Chemistry, Prof. Joginder Singh of the Department of Botany and Prof. Pranav Kumar Prabhakar of the Department of Biotechnology.
The Career-Long list includes Prof. Ambrish Singh, Prof. Joginder Singh and Prof. Pranav Kumar Prabhakar, recognising their research impact over their scientific careers.
Nagaland University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Jagadish K. Patnaik congratulated the faculty members, saying the recognition reflected their dedication and the growing global visibility of research at the university.
Prof. Sharma’s research focuses on hydrology and environmental engineering, including groundwater management and contaminant remediation. Prof. Ambrish Singh works in electrochemistry, materials chemistry and corrosion science, while Prof. Joginder Singh’s research spans microbiology, plant sciences and environmental studies.
Prof. Pranav Kumar Prabhakar’s research focuses on biotechnology and biomedical sciences, particularly metabolic disorders and oral insulin delivery. He has previously featured in the list published in 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024.
The list uses standardised bibliometric indicators, including citations and the h-index, based on Scopus data provided by Elsevier. It classifies researchers across 22 scientific fields and 174 sub-fields.
