Nagaland Governor Nand Kishore Yadav reviewed water supply and sanitation progress during a meeting with the Public Health Engineering Department at Naga Bhavan Conference Hall, Lok Bhavan, Kohima on April 13.

PHED officials, led by Secretary Zarenthung Ezung, presented updates on key programmes, including the Jal Jeevan Mission and Swachh Bharat Mission Grameen.
The department reported 94.91 percent household tap water coverage, with over 3.45 lakh connections under JJM as of April 1, 2026. Several districts have achieved full Functional Household Tap Connections.
Officials added that 1,258 villages, or 88 percent, have been declared ODF Plus, reflecting progress in sanitation and waste management.
The Governor reviewed challenges such as depleting water sources, funding constraints and maintenance issues, and stressed sustainable management, timely execution and stronger community participation.
He also emphasised rainwater harvesting as a key solution to water scarcity, particularly in urban and water-stressed areas, and urged its wider adoption across the state.
