Mokokchung, 14 May (MTNews): With the cyclone Mocha making landfall on 14 May over coastal Myanmar and Bangladesh, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted likelihood of more heavy rainfall in the North-East States including Nagaland during the next three days.

 

The national weather agency predicted very likelihood of fairly widespread to widespread rainfall over NE during next 5 days and heavy rainfall at isolated places.

 

The IMD forecasted heavy to very heavy rainfall very likely on May 15 at isolated places over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Assam, and Meghalaya. Similar conditions were predicted for both 16 and 17 May.

 

Meanwhile, the IMD’s Regional Met Centre Guwahati issued “Orange” (Be Prepared) alert for most NE States including Nagaland from 14-17 May on Sunday due to cyclone Mocha.
