Known for spreading positivity through his music, Meyisanen Lemtur from Dimapur, has contributed a soulful chorus in Big Dane’s latest single, ‘Your Grace’ and the netizens love it!
Sanen is well-known as the front man of ‘The Gluttones’ that just made a comeback with ‘Through the night’ five months ago and also for his solo projects such as ‘Years Gone By’ featuring JPollnd and Temsu Clover, ‘Break it Dawn’, ‘Lose it all’ and many more.
The young lad, however, has been vocal about how he is only doing music because he loves it and does not really wish to pursue a musical career.
Grabbing an opportunity to know him better, here is Mokokchung Times sharing a brief talk with the singer.

MTNews: Thank you for the opportunity, Sanen. I just finished watching your feature with Big Dane in “Your Grace” – it’s a really good song. How do you feel about the 82k+ views on the music video?
Sanen: It feels great. I’m happy with the reviews it has gotten thus far.

MTNews: What was your experience like working with Big Dane?
Sanen: It was amazing. He is a really talented dude with a chill personality. I feel blessed to have found a friend in him through this process.

MTNews: Tell us something more about yourself and walk us through your journey of becoming a singer and a song writer.
Sanen: It was 2017 when Tali Angh visited me several times with the encouragement of pursuit of music whether full time or half time. Those events eventually led me to pursue music. I’m really grateful to Tali Angh.

MTNews: You have worked with a lot of artists in your solo projects but at the same time, you are the front man of “The Gluttones”. How are you managing between your personal solo projects and the projects with the band while you’re still engaged with studies?
Sanen: It is hard sometimes but not impossible at the same time. You just need to keep your priorities straight and maintain your time and schedule. As for me, passion is my biggest drive to overcome those hurdles.

MTNews: You mentioned that you would love to prepare for civil services. Does that mean music is just one part of your dream? How do your band members see this move?
Sanen: Yes, music is not my main goal yet it is and will always be a part of me and what I do. Whereas for my band members, they are okay with it as the same applies to them too. Music is not their sole means for bread and butter.

MTNews: Are you planning on releasing an album anytime soon? How about a plan on collaborating with more local artists?
Sanen: No plans on releasing an album but I do have some collaboration and singles that I’ve been working on for 2 years or so. They will be out one at a time.

MTNews: As an artist, what has been the most challenging thing you have faced?
Sanen: Being consistent has been challenging for me due to lack of motivation in some days and managing between music and education has also been a little tiring.

MTNews: How would you like to comment at the current music industry in Nagaland?
Sanen: I wouldn’t consider it as an industry as we’ve yet to do so much in order to function as one. It’s still in its infancy but I see hope for the future with the rise of young, talented and broadminded musicians. It’s good to see even the Government focusing on music and arts.

MTNews: Do you have plans to go on a tour? What has been your biggest achievement in your music career so far?
Sanen: Achievement, maybe Nagaland Music Award. As for tour, I do want to go for one but let’s see what the future brings.

MTNews: Do you think music as a career in Nagaland will work out? How would you describe the response of the general public regarding their support towards local artists?

Sanen: It can. There are people who are successful in this field so it’s not impossible but one needs to be smart and diligent. The general view of the public depends upon your work. You reap what you sow. Of course, there will always be some unsatisfied people but that’s just natural. Not everyone will like your work. Although sometimes our people can be a little unsupportive but I don’t blame them.

MTNews: Leave a message for your fans and our readers.
Sanen: Hey, hope you’re doing well. Keep on doing you and never give up. God loves you.
Stay safe. I love you.
