The Inter-School Sports Meet 2024, organized by the Pungro Sports Association under the theme “Champions of Tomorrow,” kicked off on October 1 and will run until October 3, 2024.
The event features participation from several schools, including Little Flower Higher Secondary School (LFHSS) Pungro, Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Pungro, Mount Hermon Baptist School (MHBS) Pungro, Agape School of Ministry (ASMS) Pungro, Government Middle School (GMS) Pungro, GMS Pungro Village, and Government Primary School (GPS) Forest Ward, totaling 3,655 students.
The inaugural ceremony was attended by the special guest, Sukheamew Yimchunger, District Evaluation Officer of Tuensang, Nagaland, along with various dignitaries and organizations. The Pungro Sports Association, founded in 2014 with the motto “In Pursuit of Excellence,” received support from numerous individuals and departments, including Colo Mero, Vice President of the Nagaland Football Association, who donated sports kits.
During his inauguration speech, the special guest inspired the students to consider sports as a viable career option and emphasized the significance of sports in fostering personality development and overall growth.
