The fourth quarterfinal match of the ongoing 24th NSF Martyrs’ Memorial Trophy, 2024 between Circle FC Chedema and TSK was suspended due to technical problems. The match will resume at 9:00 am.

Till the 65th minute mark, Chedema team was leading 1-0 thanks, to a goal from Daniel in the 10th minute.

Meanwhile, the Organizing Committee of the 24th NSF Martyrs’ Memorial Trophy, 2024, informed that the night matches scheduled for the 1st Semi Final on the 2nd October and the 2nd Semi Final on the 3rd October has been rescheduled to 2:00pm owing to the “technical failure of the floodlights.”

It informed that there have been “irregularities of the generators in supplying power to the floodlights, which has been under the notice of the Department of Youth Resources & Sports and the IG Stadium Administration.” However, it said the “negligence from the concerned authority has caused immeasurable inconveniences to the organizers, teams and the fans.”

“In regard to this matter, the Organizing Committee and the Angami Students’ Union shall take all befitting action on priority.

While the tournament has been successful over the years for the love and cooperation from the football teams, fans and well wishers, we request all of you to kindly comprehend the matter and continue supporting the tournament by your presence and prayers,” it added.

The Organizing Committee added that further updates for the Grand Finale scheduled on the 5th October, 2024 would be issued later.

The fourth quarterfinal match between Circle FC Chedema and TSK was suspended due to technical problems. The match will resume tomorrow at 9 am. Until the 65th minute, the Chedema team led 1-0, thanks to Daniel’s goal in the 10th minute.

In the third quarterfinal match of the ongoing 24th NSF Martyrs Memorial Trophy at IG Stadium, Kohima, Asufü Football Academy scored seven goals against Michazou FC, leaving the goalkeeper praying for the match to end. Asufü was five goals ahead by halftime and added two more in the second half.

P Soromi Thinsang scored a hat-trick with goals in the 18th, 34th, and 87th minutes. Additionally, Bijoy Moktan (8′), Suzülo Mao (27′), Korouhanba Laishram (31′), and Janjagin Kuki (62′) each scored for the Asufü team. Asufü will now face the winner of the TKS vs Circle FC Chedema match in the semifinals. Notably, two teams from Asufü have progressed to the semifinals.

Earlier on Monday, Asufü Christian Institute defeated defending champions Red Scars FC in the first quarterfinal match. Both teams failed to score in the stipulated 90 minutes, even during the additional 15+15 minutes of play with 10 against 11 players. The ACI goalkeeper, awarded Player of the Match, stunningly saved one penalty in the tiebreaker, securing a semifinal spot for the team. The defending champions lost 4-5 in the tiebreaker.

In the second quarterfinal, Sechü Zubza FC defeated Football 4 Change with a score of 2-0. Hemping and Neisede scored goals in the first half. Hemping of SZFC was awarded Player of the Match. SZFC will now face Asufü Christian Institute in the first semifinal scheduled for October 2nd at 5:30 PM.
