Mokokchung, August 30 (MTNews): Jubilee Memorial School bid adieu to its outgoing principal, Sunil Kumar Maiti who had been serving the institute for the past 30 years. Hundreds of people attended the farewell program at Salangtem Fellowship, MTBA, on Tuesday, including family members, friends, parents, alumni, faculty members, and students.

Sunil Kumar Maiti in his farewell speech said that he was leaving the school with tons of teaching and administrative experience. He said that the success of the school is and will always be the teamwork of the administration, the teachers and the students. He said that he has made an invincible bond with the institution in his thirty years of teaching and added that he has received immense love and support from everyone. “I am leaving this school with great contentment and satisfaction and with incredible memories and experiences,” he said.

 

He encouraged his students to live up to the school motto “mount up like eagles”. He concluded his emotional journey by reading a verse from Robert Frost’s poem ‘Stopping by the woods on a snowy evening’.

 

Pastor, MTBA, Rev. Ponen Longchar in his speech said that SK Maiti joined the school as an assistant teacher in 1993 and was appointed as the headmaster in 1996. “He has served the school for thirty years and his relationship with the school and the students shows his love and commitment for the school and for the people of Mokokchung,” the pastor said. He also said that the outgoing principal of JMS has left a legacy which cannot be erased.

 

Earlier, short speeches were delivered by Rev. Temsuwati Kichu, Chairman, BoG; Madhobi TGT, JMS; Imjungnukshi, Chairman, Students’ Council; Sentisenla GT, MGHSS; and Sangeeta Sharma, Principal, JMS.
