The newly elected office bearers of the Kohima Chamber of Commerce and Industries (KCCI), led by its President, Ruokuoneilie Kesiezie, organised a Stakeholder Interaction-cum-Dinner on Friday at Where’s The Food Restaurant, New Ministers’ Hill, Kohima.

KCCI holds stakeholder interaction, deliberates on key business issues

The programme brought together KCCI sector representatives from various business segments, providing a common platform for dialogue, collaboration and strengthening unity within the business community.

The programme was chaired by KCCI Vice President Khriesazo Liezietsu, while the invocation was pronounced by KCCI Spokesperson Kelhousizo Kire. In his presidential address, Kesiezie underscored the importance of collective leadership, stronger stakeholder engagement and a unified approach to addressing issues affecting the business community.

A highlight of the programme was an open discussion session during which participants deliberated on a range of issues concerning the business sector. Topics included taxation and regulatory concerns, market syndicates and monopolistic practices, consumer welfare, strengthening the business ecosystem and measures to safeguard the interests of genuine entrepreneurs.

The gathering also discussed the need for conducting a comprehensive census and maintaining statistical documentation of the business community to facilitate informed planning and effective policy advocacy. Members further exchanged ideas and discussed preparations for the upcoming Golden Jubilee celebration of the Kohima Chamber of Commerce and Industries, scheduled later this year.

The interaction concluded with a shared commitment to foster greater cooperation, strengthen institutional unity and work collectively towards creating a more transparent, vibrant and business-friendly environment while upholding consumer welfare and the public interest.
