The installation ceremony of the Board of Directors of the Lions Club of Kohima for the Lionistic Year 2026-27 was held in Kohima on Saturday, with newly elected office bearers taking oath to serve the community.

The oath of office was administered by Lion Dr Neena Dutta, District Governor (Elect), District 322D, who served as the installation officer. The incoming board includes President Talitemsu Jamir, Secretary Max Marius Menuse-O, Treasurer Kaikho Dawman, First Vice President Ketoukholie Whuorie and Second Vice President Akhrienuo Kire.
Addressing the gathering, Dutta highlighted the theme, “Be the Crown of Service”, and the vision, “More Service More Quality Members”.
“The crown is a universal symbol of honor, responsibility, and leadership. In Lions Club, our highest honor is not power or position, but service,” she said.
She reminded members that true leadership lies in serving others and added, “To ‘Be the Crown of Service’ means to wear kindness, compassion, and selfless giving as your greatest honor.”
Five-time club president Oken Jeet Sandham shared his experiences, read out the profile of the District Governor Elect and handed over the gavel to incoming president Talitemsu Jamir, who later delivered his presidential address.
The programme was chaired by S P Francis, while Dr B Imli Wapang proposed the vote of thanks.
