Nagaland Deputy Chief Minister TR Zeliang held a meeting today with the Commander of the 15 BRTF in Dimapur. They discussed issues facing the Kohima-Pedi-Peren road, which is a portion of the Kohima-Lekie (Assam) road.
The Deputy Chief Minister raised concerns from the public, particularly from the Western Angami Public Organisation and the Nagaland Zeliang People Organisation, regarding how an incomplete project can be inaugurated by the Union Defence Minister.
The BRTF Commander clarified that the inauguration would not hinder ongoing work and that the entire stretch of the road would be completed by March 2025.
Furthermore, it was noted that the ongoing work is not a new construction project but rather repair and maintenance work undertaken every five years, and in special cases, every four years.
