In a swift breakthrough, Kohima Police recovered a stolen Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 motorcycle belonging to an Andhra Pradesh-based YouTuber within ten days of the complaint, leading to the arrest of two persons in connection with the case.

The incident came to light on April 17, 2026, when a written FIR was lodged at North Police Station, Kohima, by Mr. Katabathina Sudheer Kumar, a bike rider and YouTuber from Andhra Pradesh. He reported that his motorcycle, bearing registration number AP40CS4895, was stolen from outside his homestay at Midlane Colony, Kohima.

Acting on the complaint, North Police Station initiated an extensive investigation under the supervision of SDPO (North), Kohima. With assistance from SDPO Jalukie and her team, the investigation led to the tracing of the stolen vehicle to the New Jalukie area in Peren district.

A joint operation with Peren Police was carried out on April 27, 2026, during which the motorcycle was successfully recovered.

In connection with the case, the prime accused Ilungchube and the receiver of the stolen vehicle, Amos Pame, were arrested. Police said further investigation is underway to determine the full extent of their involvement and possible network linkages.

Officials described the operation as a result of strong inter-district coordination between Kohima Police and Peren Police. They noted that timely information sharing and coordinated action enabled the recovery of the vehicle within a short span of time.

Kohima Police stated that the case underscores its commitment to ensuring the safety of visitors and maintaining law and order in the state. The public has been urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station.
