The Installation Program of the Konyak Union Advisory Board and Union Executive Council (UEC) for the tenure 2025–2028 was successfully held at the Konyak Union Conference Hall, Mon, on 19th June 2025.
During the program, K. Yamao Konyak, President of the Konyak Union, warmly welcomed the gathering and extended his heartfelt congratulations to the newly appointed Advisory Board and UEC members of the Union. In his address, he highlighted the importance of collective responsibility and urged the members, as well as the intellectuals of the Konyak community, to extend unwavering support and cooperation throughout his three-year term for the welfare and advancement of Mon District and its people.
Kongam Konyak, Hon’ble MLA and Advisor for Treasury & Accounts, Art & Culture, Government of Nagaland, delivered a speech on behalf of the newly inducted Advisory Board. He assured the Union of their full support and reaffirmed their commitment to work collaboratively with the Executive. He encouraged the new leadership to strive for peace, unity, social progress, and overall development by partnering with the State Government, District Administration, various civil society organizations, and the public. He further emphasized the need to serve with diligence, sincerity, transparency, and a firm resolve for the betterment of the Konyak community in particular and the Nagas as a whole.
Howing Konyak, former KU President and current UEC member, also shared his valuable experiences during his address. He urged the new team to face challenges with courage and wisdom and stressed the importance of addressing developmental and local issues with patience and diplomacy.
The Konyak Union Executive Council 2025–2028 includes 14 Advisory Board members along with 9 Konyak elected representatives and 25 UEC members, which also comprises 11 KU Unit Presidents.
The program concluded with a thanksgiving prayer led by Rev. Yeangphong Konyak, District Chaplain.
