Advisor for CAWD and MLA Kudecho Khamo on Saturday inaugurated a futsal court at Chetheba in Phek district, constructed under the MLA Local Area Development Programme (LADP) Iconic Project.
Speaking at the inaugural programme, Khamo thanked the landowners for facilitating the project and said development is essential for progress. He urged the people to work collectively for the overall development of the area through cooperation, sacrifice and responsible use of public resources.
He called on the public to maintain integrity and honesty in safeguarding government property and encouraged them to make use of state and central government schemes. Referring to the availability of banking facilities in Chetheba, Khamo urged people to build trust with financial institutions and explore entrepreneurship as a sustainable livelihood.
Describing Chetheba as a strategically located town, he said efforts are underway to accelerate development in the area. Highlighting the growing importance of sports, Khamo said it promotes peace, keeps young people engaged in productive activities and creates livelihood opportunities.
Chetheba Town Welfare Council chairman Setsoyi Keyho thanked Khamo for fulfilling the long-standing demand for a futsal court and appreciated other development initiatives undertaken in the constituency.
The programme was attended by EAC Chetheba Nengpichong Singsit, public leaders, football enthusiasts and residents of Chetheba and neighbouring areas.
