KVK Mokokchung successfully conducted a Frontline Demonstration cum training program on Enriched Compost for the women SHGs under the aegis of NSRLM (Chuchuyimlang Block) on 12th May 2025 at Chuchuyimlang.
Imtilemla, ACTO (Soil Conservation) KVK Mokokchung, highlighted the importance and use of compost, types of composting, and the benefits of enriching locally produced compost by using different organic amendments and microbial consortium. Later, a hands-on demonstration involving the process of inoculating the finished compost with beneficial microbes and rock phosphate was conducted with the women.
Temsurenla, Area Coordinator of Chuchuyimlang Block, Nagaland State Rural Livelihoods Mission, encouraged the women SHGs to produce compost at every household, enabling them to gradually become commercial producers. She emphasized that this practice would help maintain soil fertility and enhance farm productivity through the use of enriched compost. A total of 23 women participated in the program.
