Lenien Jamir of Monmouth University Women’s Tennis team is among the 38 student-athletes to have been named to Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) 2022 Women’s Tennis All-Academic Team for the second consecutive year. MAAC made the announcement on April 22. To be eligible for the MAAC All-Academic Team, a student-athlete must complete two semesters at their institution and hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 on a 4.0 scale.

Monmouth University Athletics took to their twitter account to congratulate Lenien Jamir: “Congratulations to Lenien Jamir of @MonmouthWTen on receiving All-MAAC honors for the second consecutive season!”

MAAC is a collegiate athletic conference affiliated with National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I, consisting of eleven schools/universities located in three states of northeastern United States: Connecticut, New Jersey and New York. The NCAA recognizes players in different fields based on their position and overall seasonal performance.

 

In 2020, Lenin bagged a prestigious athletic scholarship at Monmouth University in the United States of America making her the first-ever tennis player from Nagaland to join the US collegiate tennis circuit. She has got admitted as an under-grad student majoring in International Relations in the university’s Honors College.
