Advisor of the Water Resources department, Government of Nagaland, and Chairman of the Mokokchung District Planning & Development Board (DPDB), Tongpang Ozukum, urged the people of Mokokchung to “move out from the Mokokchung cocoon”, earn outside, and invest in Mokokchung. Ozukum made this statement during his speech at the Mega Job Expo held at FAC, Mokokchung held today.
According to Ozukum, there is a trend in society where Nagas study in good colleges and institutions for years, stay there for about ten years, and then come back to Nagaland at 34, saying, “Even a grade 4 job in Nagaland would do.” Ozukum urged Nagas to do away with such mentality and perception. He also encouraged youngsters to seize the opportunities “brought to their doorstep.”
Ozukum further encouraged youngsters to work in the private sector outside Nagaland, stating that “working in a diverse environment, one will learn about work culture, discipline, and punctuality.”
