A one-day training programme on the Livestock Insurance Scheme under NLM 2025–26 was held at TT Garden, Tzusapang Sector, Mokokchung, on Friday. The programme aimed to raise awareness among farmers and equip para-vets to help them avail livestock insurance benefits.

The programme was chaired by Dr. Toshiwati, Deputy Director. Delivering the inaugural address, Dr. Tiachuba Jamir, Chief A.H. & Veterinary Officer, Mokokchung, stressed the need to register livestock on the Bharat Pashudhan portal to avail insurance benefits and reduce financial losses. He also assured support from the CVO Office for farmers seeking assistance.
A technical session was led by Dr. Nemjemyanger Kubzari, Farm Manager, who explained insurance guidelines, claim procedures, benefits under the scheme, and the role of para-veterinarians and farmers in maintaining proper documentation and coordinating with insurers.
The programme also featured an interactive discussion where participants shared queries and concerns. Akumyanger, SVFA, thanked the department for the initiative and called for wider outreach.
The programme concluded with closing remarks by Dr. Sanen Jamir, DLDO, who thanked participants and organisers, followed by a closing prayer.
