Kohima, 19 August: Now residing in Atoizu Town, Mughakivi A from Asukhomi Village has achieved a remarkable milestone in landscape photography. On July 27, 2024, he captured one of the longest confirmed ground-to-ground telephotos, spanning 277 kilometers from Nagaland to the Eastern Himalayan Mountain Ranges in Arunachal Pradesh. The photograph reveals the three highest peaks of the Seven Sisters State: Mt. Kangto, Mt. Chuimo, and Mt. Nyegyi Kansang.

Mughakivi has been documenting these peaks since July 5, 2020, and noted that the visibility during this observation was among the clearest in four years. This record-setting image highlights Mt. Kangto’s comparatively shorter appearance due to Earth’s curvature and distance. This achievement is anticipated to contribute valuable insights into the geography of Nagaland. (DIPR)
