Mokokchung, August 27 (MTNews): Mangmetong Student’s Union Mokokchung as a prelude to its Platinum Jubilee Celebration in 2023 organized a Career Guidance program under the theme “Quality Education & Skills for Livelihood” at Ongpangkong Salang, Mokokchung on Saturday.

Aotula T. Imchen IPS, Superintendent of Police, Mokokchung, speaking as a guest speaker said that developing self-responsibility is the key to a successful career in life. Although there will be a lot of peer pressure, she advised pursuing a job that one is passionate about with commitment, hard effort, and perseverance, adding that one should not follow others but pursue one’s own goals and ambitions.” Follow your dreams, not people,” said Imchen. She went on to say that a person with knowledge and responsibility is what society will be made of in the future.

 

Allen Imchen while delivering a brief keynote address said that a career guidance program is essential to a student’s life since it helps shape their future choices. He continued by urging the participants to take advantage of the opportunity to gain knowledge from the resource persons who were experts in their fields.

 

The introductory session was chaired by Alemchila while the invocation was pronounced by Fellowship in-charge, R. Among.

 

The resource persons during the program were Sashikala, Principal, GHSS Mangkolemba speaking on Stream ‘Selection-I’ for classes 7-10;Dr. Temjensangla Pongener, Asst. Prof. FAC speaking on ‘Stream Selection-II’ for classes 11-12;Dr. Lanunochetla, Dy. DAO, Mokokchung speaking on ‘Agri & Alied’ for degree & above and educated unemployed; Aotula. T. Imchen IPS, Superintendent of Police, Mokokchung speaking on ‘competitive exams’ for all aspiring candidates; and Er. T. Imlisunep Imchen, Principal, Govt. ITI Mokokchung speaking on ‘Skill development and entrepreneurship.’

 

The program was attended by the students of classes 7 and above (till University level) and all the educated unemployed residing in Mokokchung Town under MSUM.
