Several leaders and members of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Nagaland’s Phek District have tendered their resignation en masse, citing bleak electoral prospects in the region. The resignation letter, dated November 30, 2024, was addressed to the State President of BJP Nagaland and signed by 22 district leaders, including prominent office-bearers and members of affiliated wings.
The letter stated, “The BJP Party Karyakartas from Phek District realized that there is no scope for electoral prospects in Phek District at present and in the near future. Therefore, we, the undersigned leaders, resign from Primary Membership and Active Member along with thousands of Primary Members on this day 30th Nov 2024.”
The signatories of the letter include the Phek District President, State Executive Member and State Convenor, District Vice President, District General Secretary and several others including leaders from the BJP Yuva Morcha, Kisan Morcha, ST Morcha and Booth Level convenors.
