Title holders Revenant FC continue to maintain their winning momentum at the ongoing Mokokchung Friday League while Wasang FC has yet again failed to garner a single point after gameweek 3. All 6 teams in the league have now played 3 matches each with Revenant FC being the only team to win all 3 games and Wasang FC is yet to register a win or a draw.

In the first match of gameweek 3 played today at Imkongmeren Sports Complex, the two teams at the bottom of the table – Terokroker FC and Wasang FC – went head to head, both coming into the match with no points on the table after two games each. It was Teroroker FC that eventually opened their account with a solitary goal to take home all points from the game, leaving Wasang FC languishing at the bottom of the table.

Terokroker FC’s Arenlong found the back of the net in the 45th minute of the game to give his team the elusive win for the first time in the season, which was also only their second goal in the season so far. Both teams have so far conceded 9 goals each.

Meanwhile, in the second match of the day, Revenant FC registered another emphatic win as they trounced a meek Senso FC by 4 goals to naught, their third straight win in the season. They now have a perfect 9 points and are at the top of the table. Temsutoshi scored in the 15th minute of the game for Revenant FC while Moakaba completed a brilliant hat trick in the second half of the match, scoring in the 54, 62 and 69 minutes. This was Senso FC’s first loss in the season and is now positioned third on the table with 4 points.

Trebuchet FC overcame a spirited New Ecclesia outfit in the third match of the day by 2 goals to 1 to keep their title race on course. New Ecclesia took the lead in the first half after Moatemsu converted a goal in the 44th minute. However, Trebuchet FC managed to come back from behind and raked in all three points from the game as Onentoshi scored a brace in the 50th and 65th minutes. With the win, Trebuchet FC are in second place with 7 points from three games, just 2 behind leaders Revenant FC.
