Mokokchung, July 15 (MTNews): A Medical Intern Room was inaugurated at DEF, Mokokchung by Aotula T. Imchen IPS, Superintendent of Police, Mokokchung on Friday.

 

Aotula T. Imchen, speaking at a brief inauguration ceremony, stated that the MI room had been long overdue. The SP further mentioned that the MI room is in a very convenient location adjacent to the National Highway, and that it will provide First Aid Assistance to those who require it before being taken elsewhere.

 

She also thanked the DPDB Mokokchung, then chaired by Tongpang Ozukum, Minister of Housing and Mechanical, for their participation to the building’s construction, as well as the Medical Department, particularly the CMO and MS of IMDH, for their ongoing support.

 

During a brief project report, Imtimeren, Addl. SP Mokokchung, mentioned that the building was built with donations from well-wishers and the District Planning and Development Board, Mokokchung, while several contributors donated medical supplies and furniture for the stated facility.

 

R. Philip Yanthan, NPS, SDPO Mangkolemba, Mokokchung, presided over the event, while Rev. Temsu, Pastor, Police Baptist Church, Mokokchung, pronounced the dedicatory prayer.

 

After 56 years of establishing DEF, the MI Room in Mokokchung is only the second in the state of Nagaland after Kohima District. The inaugural programme was followed with a medical camp.
