The Congress party has awarded its ticket to I Temsu Jamir for the ULB Election from Sangtemla Ward today at the DCC Office, Mokokchung. This brings the total number of Congress candidates in Mokokchung District to 12 – 6 for municipalities and 6 for Municipal Councils.
Jamir has also tendered his resignation from the NDPP, where he held the position of president of the 26 Aonglenden ACCC and president of the NDPP Sangtemla Unit.
The Congress party said that it has kept its doors open for any intending candidate to claim the party ticket until the last date of nomination.

Watimongba, the president of the Mokokchung District Congress Committee, commented on Jamir’s acceptance into the party, saying that Jamir has the potential to win, hence they have offered him the ticket.
