An inaugural event for the Skill Development of Rural Women through the Mobile Skill Morung took place at Town Hall, Mangkolemba, Mokokchung, on 2nd September 2024.

ADC Mangkolemba, Moakumzuk Tzudir, commended the Department of Employment, Skill Development, and Entrepreneurship for implementing the program in the subdivisions. He also urged participants to utilize the skills they have gained to pave the way for a more prosperous future for themselves and their communities. He further voiced his confidence that similar training initiatives would be organized in the future to harness the economic potential of the region and the state.

Er Imlisunep Ao, the Principal of ITI Mokokchung, emphasized that this training program was specifically organized to address the unique challenges faced by rural women in the state. He highlighted the importance of this initiative as a significant opportunity for women in rural areas to gain new skills and improve their job prospects.

He also expressed confidence that the training would enable rural women to unleash their full potential and make a positive impact on the socio-economic development of the region. Furthermore, he urged participants to leverage the program to become self-employed and achieve financial independence.

The training provider introduced the program to the participating women from various villages across the subdivisions.
