Kohima, February 20 (MTNews): Model Christian College, Kohima, organized Cultural Day on Saturday, under the theme ‘The Voice of my Heritage’ at the College Auditorium.
The Lidi Kro-u Society, a group of eight mothers hailing from Kohima Village graced the event as guests of honor. With the group’s aim to promote and preserve Naga culture, the group presented traditional songs and taught the attendees traditional chants. According to an update received here, Nisakonuo Solo, a member of the group, delivered a speech and applauded the college’s effort in preserving and promoting culture.
Welcome address was given by the Coordinator of the College’s Cultural Committee, Neichuzonuo Rupre-o, Assistant Professor, Department of Sociology.
Presentations of various cultural activities included stone pulling and monolith erection, folk play, folk fusion, and traditional games of ‘tholi’ and cockfight, the update said.
Vote of thanks was delivered by Thumaichipen Chang, Cultural Secretary of the Model Christian College Students’ Union.
