Mokokchung, February 19 (MTNews): With just a few days left for the Nagaland Assembly Election, campaigning in Nagaland is at its highest peak as several political leaders and star campaigners of different parties are aggressively campaigning for their candidates.

 

The arrival of more BJP central leaders is expected in the State for campaigning. A total of 183 candidates from 12 political parties are in the fray for the upcoming State Assembly election, which is scheduled on February 27.

 

Star campaigner and Assam Chief Minister  Himanta Biswa Sarma will be campaigning on Monday at Local Ground Bhandari town under Wokha district for sitting MLA and BJP candidate from 40 Assembly Constituency, Mmnhonlumo Kikon. The campaign will be joined by Star campaigners National BJP Spokesperson Nalin Kohli and alliance partner NDPP Secretary General Abu Metha.

 

Also on Monday, President of the Republican Party of India (Athawale) and Union Minister of State for Social Justice & Empowerment, Ramdas Athawale will also be addressing a public rally in Tseminyu town.

 

As informed by the BJP Spokesperson Nalin Kohli, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also arrive in the State before the conclusion of the election campaign. Various union Ministers will be arriving in the state in the next two days according to the BJP. (With AIR inputs)

 

Konyak Union informs on Amit Shah’s visit to Mon

 

Meanwhile, Union Home Minister, Amit Shah, will be visiting Mon town on Monday, the Konyak Union has informed.

Shah will address a public rally which is set to take place at the Mon town Local Football Ground from 03:00 PM onwards, the union informed.

 

“It is mandatory for all citizens of Mon district to attend this event irrespective of any political affiliations, tribes, caste and religion; and we request that you attend in traditional attire to showcase the cultural diversity and rich heritage of our region,” the union said.

 

“The Union Home Minister’s visit to our district is a significant event, and we encourage you to attend the rally to show your support and to listen to his address,” it appealed. “This is a unique opportunity for citizens to hear directly from the Union Home Minister, and to learn more about the government’s plans, policies and initiatives for our region,” it added.
