Pughoboto, February 20 (MTNews): Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma while addressing election rallies in Pughoboto and Bhandari on February 20 clarified that BJP has no links with Lok Janshakti Party (LJP), which is contesting in 19 seats this Nagaland Assembly election.

The Assam CM said, “BJP has no links with any party not to talk about LJP and others. BJP has no link with LJP. If there are some rumors, that is wrong.”
Sarma also said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi wants the next government in Nagaland to be formed under the chief ministership of Neiphiu Rio in order to continue with the ‘good work of much needed development and political solution to the Naga issue’.
He also added that “in next five years, we will work to carry forward the development work, resolve the Assam-Nagaland border dispute and bring solution to Naga political issues.”
He further informed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit the state shortly.
Sarma during his campaign in Bhandari on the same day attacked Naga People’s Front (NPF) and said that the party has fielded candidates only in 22 seats while to form a government, one requires 30 MLAS in a 60-member assembly.
“The old party NPF had raised its hands before starting the game. At least 31 seats are needed to form the government in Nagaland. But NPF has given tickets only on 22 seats; they could not contest at least 31 seats. This means that they had already decided to sit on the seat of the opposition. Why would people vote for a party which cannot form the government? We, the NDPP and the BJP, will be in government in Nagaland and Neiphio Rio will be the chief minister of the state once again. Rio and I have a good relationship. Nagas can do business in Assam; I promise there will be no problem from our Assamese side. No need to pay double tax on trucks of stone entering Assam from Bhandari. Oil fields will be mined in Nagaland,” Sarma added.
Sarma was campaigning for NDPP-BJP candidates: Vikheho Swu of NDPP in 13 Pughoboto AC and Mmhonlumo Kikon of BJP in 40 Bhandari AC.
