Following the success of World Music Day 2022 celebration where Nagaland’s ‘About Us’ headlined the event, Blend In Events is geared up for the highly anticipated World Music Day 2023, which will take place Wednesday at Town Hall, Mokokchung. With the main event scheduled to start at 5 pm, the event will feature Incipit and Tiameren Aier from Dimapur.

However, Wapang, the Director of Blend In Events, expressed optimism about a larger turnout than the number of tickets sold. Drawing from last year’s experience, where more people attended than expected, he anticipates a similar trend this year.

“Last year, more people turned up than we were expecting. It was a good show. So, even this year, we are expecting the same,” Wapang told Mokokchung Times. He hopes that World Music Day 2023 will be a night to remember, emphasizing that such an occasion only occurs once a year.

In addition to the main event, the celebration of World Music Day will also feature an open mic session starting at 11:00 am, providing a platform for aspiring musicians to showcase their talent. Attendees will also have the opportunity to explore various stalls offering diverse experiences. To commemorate the event, Blend In Events has introduced a special T-shirt exclusively for the day, in presence of Task Force for Music and Arts (TaFMA) Chairman, Theja Meru.

Speaking about their partnership with TaFMA Nagaland, Wapang said that artists who deliver exceptional performances during the event will be given the opportunity to showcase their talent on a bigger stage, such as the renowned Hornbill Festival. This collaboration serves as a testament to the commitment of both organizations to promote and uplift local artists in Nagaland.
