Proposal forwarded to concerned department for further action
The Mokokchung District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) has approved the construction of a fire station at Changtongya Town and forwarded the proposal to the concerned department for further action.

The decision was taken during the monthly DPDB meeting held on Friday at the DC’s Conference Hall, Mokokchung, under the chairmanship of Rural Development and SIRD Minister Metsübo Jamir.
The meeting was presided over by Deputy Commissioner and DPDB Vice-Chairman Ajit Kumar Verma, IAS.
The board also discussed the Nikshay Mitra initiative being undertaken by the District Tuberculosis Office, under which community members and donors extend support to TB patients. Members discussed the need to identify more potential donors in view of the increasing number of TB patients in the district.
During the meeting, the District Horticulture Officer, Dr B. Temjenmenla, gave a presentation on the implementation of schemes and activities carried out by the department in the district.
Minister Metsübo Jamir also highlighted the Public Finance Management System (PFMS) and urged officers to be well-versed in digital payments, government reforms, schemes and protocols. He encouraged the members to come up with innovative ideas and recognise innovative practices and solutions at the grassroots level.
The minister further advised officers to make proper use of government offices and staff quarters.
The meeting also saw the launch of a toll-free helpline initiated by the Department of Environment, Forests and Climate Change.
