Proprietor Ajungla L Imsong highlighted the store’s vision, focusing on offering a diverse range of high-quality, affordable apparel to meet the evolving fashion needs of the community. She stated that KÏKÕ is committed to providing the latest trends at reasonable prices, catering to all age groups. Imsong also shared the inspiration behind establishing KÏKÕ, expressing her dedication to creating a shopping experience that combines style, quality, and affordability for customers. Imsong explained that the name “KIKO” is a blend of Japanese and Spanish origins, symbolizing a “joyful child,” “hopeful child,” or “rejoicing child” in Japanese, and “noble” and “home ruler” in Spanish. From her perspective, in the Ao language, “Ki” refers to “home,” while “Ko” represents “collections,” thereby defining “KÏKÕ” as “a house or home full of collections for loved ones.”
She observed that fashion trends keep changing in today’s world, which prompted her to bring KÏKÕ multi-brand outlet to the town. She noted the challenges faced by locals when returning home from bigger cities after study or work, where the shopping experience differs significantly due to the limited resources in the town. This often leads to online shopping, she said, which comes with its own set of drawbacks, such as issues with size, quality, and delivery.
To address these concerns, she envisioned a physical store that would provide an enjoyable and reliable shopping experience, allowing customers to check the quality and sizes firsthand. Imsong aims to offer trendy and affordable apparel for all age groups without compromising on quality, ensuring that everyone benefits from the store’s offerings.

Also speaking at the inauguration, Chuchuyimpang Village Council Chairman, Zulu Imsong spoke about the importance of self-employment and the need for young people to look beyond government jobs. He remarked that while parents invest heavily in their children’s education, many after getting their degrees fail to achieve their goals.

He observed that parents strive to provide the best education for their children but many young people remain solely dependent on government jobs, neglecting the vast alternative opportunities available.

Imsong lauded the proprietor for her vision and initiative in becoming self-reliant. He praised her for being a role model, demonstrating the value of self-employment, and inspiring others to take practical steps toward independence. “We must not just speak of change but act on it,” he urged, encouraging all to transform one’s ideas into reality.

He also expressed hope that Imsong’s initiative would inspire positive change and bring success to the community.

The inauguration was also marked with a ribbon-cutting and benediction led by Rev I Wati Imsong of Chuchuyimpang Baptist Church, Mokokchung.

The event was chaired by Lanukokla Senpo, while Pastor Monglier of MTBA Tongdentsuyong Fellowship pronounced the invocation.
