The Mokokchung Municipal Council (MMC) on July 6 organised a Thanksgiving and Commemoration Programme at the MMC Conference Hall to mark the successful completion of two years of service, development and progress since the elected councillors assumed office.
The programme was graced by Deputy Commissioner of Mokokchung, Ajit Kumar Verma, IAS, as the special guest. During the event, he officially unveiled the Council’s achievement report titled Two Years of Service, Development and Progress, which documents the major initiatives, developmental works, policy reforms and milestones achieved by the MMC over the past two years.
The programme was attended by representatives of various stakeholder organisations, including the Lika Land Owners’ Board (Ungma, Mokokchung and Khensa), All Ward Union Mokokchung Town (AWUMT), Watsü Mungdang, Ao Students’ Conference (AKM), Mokokchung Town Lanur Telungjem, Mokokchung Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI), and Hindu Samaj, along with the councillors and staff of the Mokokchung Municipal Council.
The gathering provided an opportunity to reflect on the Council’s journey over the past two years, acknowledge the support of stakeholders and citizens, and reaffirm its commitment to continued development, transparent governance and improved civic services for the people of Mokokchung.
The programme concluded with a dedicatory and thanksgiving prayer offered by Rev. Dr. Ponen Longchar, Senior Pastor of Mokokchung Town Baptist Arogo (MTBA).
