Mokokchung, 27 April (MTNews): The Ongpangkong Students’ Conference (OKM) has initiated disciplinary measures for students within the Ongpangkong area, emphasizing strict adherence to regulations.

The OKM has notified that students from schools and colleges found loitering in uniforms or engaging in immoral activities will face penalties. Additionally, it added that students found consuming intoxicants or any form of abusive substances shall not be tolerated.

The OKM advised all students to ‘dress appropriately and decently,’ emphasizing that they will thoroughly check and monitor students during class hours.

Furthermore, the office of the OKM cautioned all shop owners to adhere to the rules under Section 4 & 6(b) of the COPTA Act 2023, set by the Health & Family Welfare Department, Government of Nagaland. This strictly prohibits the sale of any tobacco-related products or other intoxicating items within 100 meters of any educational institution.

The OKM maintained that failing to comply with the set rules shall result in serious consequences and urged all educational institutions, parents, and the concerned public to extend cooperation to the initiatives taken by the office.
