Mokokchung, 12 May (MTNews): The Trained Nurses Association of India (TNAI), Mokokchung Unit visited Care & Support Children Home at Tzümarshiyong, near Chungtia village under Mokokchung on 12 May in commemoration of International Nurses Day.

The TNAI Mokokchung Unit entourage was led by its president Imolangla Jamir on the theme “Our Nurses, our future, the economic power of care.” Interacting with the children and the caretaker of the orphanage, the president highlighted the crucial role nurses play in shaping healthcare and the economy through their dedication, care and compassion.

The visiting team also donated essential needs to the children as well as shared some special moments about the spirit of love and camaraderie with the children.

Nagaland CM Rio on International Nurses Day

Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio extended his wishes to all nurses on International Nurses Day, acknowledging their selfless service. Stating that nurses are the backbone of the healthcare system, Rio added, “Their steadfast dedication, compassion, and expertise not only nurture our well-being but also drive our economies.”

International Nurses’ Day was celebrated across the globe today with the theme “Our Nurses. Our Future. The Economic Power of Care,” chosen by the International Council of Nurses. This day is observed annually on 12 May to honor and commemorate the contributions and achievements of nurses worldwide. It also coincides with the birth anniversary of Florence Nightingale, the founder of modern nursing.
