Recalling the trials encountered by the Ao churches during the mid-20th century, Sentisashi affirmed that these difficult experiences had a transformative outcome only because of their resilient faith. God does not betray his covenants, and he reminded the congregation that the almighty’s eyes is set upon the Ao Nagas, especially the people of Molungkimong, and we must not make assumptions about God’s loyalty during adversity. Stating that jubilee is a time of emancipation, he invited everyone to reflect on the different ways that we have been enslaved, and unshackle ourselves from the bondages of sin. “What do we take away from this Jubilee?” he queried and urged the gathering to make new covenants with oneself and with God and to follow through with commitment.
