25-year-old Wangtun Wanmei was crowned as the new Angh of Longlam Village under Mon District on June 10, making him the youngest Angh in Longlam’s recorded history. According to an update shared by a representative of the Longlam Village Council, he is also believed to be among the youngest Anghs in the entire Konyak area.
The coronation ceremony was marked by traditional reverence and participation from neighboring villages. The Chief Angh of Wangla, Leiwang; Hongphoi Angh, Manto; Lapa Angh, Tinwang; and Oting Angh, Tahwang each delivered speeches during the event.
Peiwang Konyak exhorted the gathering, and Pastor LBC, Phuhlem blessed the coronation ceremony of the new Angh.
The event concluded with a community feast.
